*THIS OFFER HAS EXPIRED*

Guys, it feels so good to see more and more librarians making the trip to join us for BookExpo. You guys make the bizarre and epic journey out to the Javits Center (in the humidity! and the rain! and in corporate casual!) totally worth our while. Thank you!

However, there were so many wonderful librarians–some we know and some we have yet to meet–that didn't make it out this year! We were bummed we didn't get to see you, but we know it's not possible for every library to send librarians to BEA (whoa, what a party that would be!).

With that in mind we want to make sure your library doesn't miss out on any of the wonderful galleys that Macmillan gave away at the conference. We would like to offer you access to e-galleys for almost all of the books we gave away in the booth at BEA. That includes...

MR. PENUMBRA'S 24-HOUR BOOKSTORE by Robin Sloan
THE FORGETTING TREE by Tatjana Soli
THE OTHER WOMAN by Hank Phillippi Ryan
CROSSTOWN TO OBLIVION by Walter Mosely (on Kirkus Reviews' BEA not-to-miss list)
DEATH AND THE GIRL NEXT DOOR by Darynda Jones
...and many more.

Head over to Edelweiss now to browse our list: BEA Macmillan Give Away Digital Review Copies. Please note: this link expires June 13th!

Use access code BEA12 to download the galleys (major bonus points if you feel like a spy and/or hacker!). And please, please share this list and access code with the other librarians in your system.

Also, while you're in Edelweiss feel free to browse our other catalogs for Fall 2012.

The Post-BEA Recap

The Post-BEA Recap

Man, oh man, what a conference!

Talia and I were pumped to see/meet/catch up with so many wonderful librarians! Thanks to everyone who came to our events and panels. We hope your conference was as good (and not quite as crazy!) as ours.

Here's a quick look at a few great BEA moments for us...

- Monday night we had a delightful meal at the 6th Annual AAP and Library Journal Adult Librarians Dinner. Thanks to everyone who joined us! We should have warned you that you would all leave with a major crush on Mark Shriver, author of A GOOD MAN... sorry about that.

- On Tuesday, we had a great turn out for Part I of the Librarians Book Buzz panel. If you missed the session, our handout is hosted here (PDF). Try to guess which title is "the FIFTY SHADES OF GREY of fundamentalist Christian family sagas" and which is "the HUNGER GAMES of metaphysical suspense" (answer to both: I'm just being ridiculous).

- We caught a few excellent and informative panels including What Librarians Wish Publishers Knew, Enter The Library Market & Drive Sales With Lessons From Patron Profiles, and the 4th Annual Librarian Shout 'n Share! I heard a rumor that the fine folks at EarlyWord will be hosting notes for a few of these panels on their website, so if we see them we'll direct you there.

- Today, classy librarians Stephanie Chase, Alene Moroni, and David Wright swung by the office to check out our digs.

While we were away...

- Talia received the second Nancy Pearl Rediscoveries book, AFTER LIFE by Rhian Ellis, and yes, we're still fawning over that charming logo!

And now it's time to nap.
